Getting unstuck

Getting Unstuck With all the rain we have had recently, it quickly came to our attention that the gutters on the roof were clearly clogged despite the fact we have a protector over the gutters that supposedly was to prevent them from ever getting clogged again. Wouldn’t you know, the worst of the clogged gutters was over our front door. Honestly it seemed we had more rain that ended up coming off the gutter than was coming down from the sky. Unfortunately, that meant that our front door was getting a beating and this weekend I noticed that when I unlocked the front door it did not feel unlocked. After double checking the locks, I realized the door was truly unlocked but stuck and required a good hard shove to open. We have scheduled a handyman to come work on the gutters and work on the front of the house, so now we wait until he can come. All this got me thinking about the scripture John 8:35 “So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.” We might feel like my front door that is already unlock but unable to easily open. When we make Jesus the Lord of our life, we can press through by faith and walk on through to victory. It may seem after a long storm of life that we are stuck and unable to walk out victorious and free. We may feel like we are trying to accelerate to somewhere, but we feel like a car just spinning its wheels, because it is stuck in the mud and not able to go anywhere. We may feel like we are not having an impact on others around us, or seeing our lives adding up to anything meaningful and fulfilling. The good news is we have Jesus who has already come to our rescue. He is our deliverer, provider, strengthener and healer. It is in times like these we need to realize by faith, we have already been set free. The locks are already unlocked and by faith we need to press through and trust God’s Word that He will make a way. That He has set us free even though it doesn’t feel like it or look like it. Psalm 40:2 reminds us that “He reached down and drew me from the deep, dark hole where I was stranded, mired in the muck and clay. With a gentle hand, He pulled me out to set me down safely on a warm rock; He held me until I was steady enough to continue the journey again.” VOICE We need to walk in that promise and put our focus and energies off our circumstances and onto Jesus who will never forsake us, He is our help and we don’t have to be afraid. (See Hebrews 13:5-6) Then we need to focus on the others, like our community and friends. Jesus is in the business of setting people free and like the story of a few friends who brought a paralyzed man to Jesus in Luke 5, we see the value of coming together to reach out to others who may not be able to get unstuck out of their circumstances. They may not have the hope we share in Jesus and just like these friends discovered, for when they persisted, they were able to witness a miraculous breakthrough for the paralyzed man they had brought to Jesus. This month Cindy Dennis Ministries is focusing on joining together for the sake of the hurting in our community to show His love, and to be a blessing. On Saturday, June 23 from 10 am to 2 pm, we will be distributing fresh fruit and vegetables to the community at the Gum Springs Community Center parking lot. It is an opportunity to love on our community and bring hope to those who are hurting. We would love to have you join us. If you are interested, please reach out to us at info@cindydennis.org. I am praying that God will release miraculous breakthrough and healing to each of you who may feel stuck. May you prayerfully consider helping to volunteer on June 23 or help to defray the expenses for this community outreach. You can do so by going to www.cindydennis.org. Let us by faith let our lives display hope to the hurting community and friends around us. Blessings, Cindy “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.” Exodus 14:1
