CDM BLOG: "SEASON'S CHANGE"
INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHTS:
It is finally beginning to feel like fall. I love the cooler temperatures at night and the sunny days free of humidity. I spent today putting away my summer clothes to get ready for fall. The white pants are packed away along with the cotton sun dresses and colorful sandals.
I love all that comes with fall -- seeing the leaves turn beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red – picking crispy apples – anything pumpkin: pies, pancakes, cookies and muffins – and hearty soups. I look forward to taking walks during my lunch break and not having to get over heated and sweaty in my work clothes.
Our lives have seasons too. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.” God is not only instructing us along the best pathway for our life, He is taking us from season to season. He is empowering us with His anointing and advising us along the way. (See Psalms 32:8).
Too many times we struggle to embrace the next season God has for us because we are comfortable with where we are and the routine we have established. Yet God likes to change things up. He is prompting us to embrace each new season and trust Him in it.
Sometimes He doesn’t give us a solid direction and a settled destination before He wants us to get moving. He may reveal our destiny in increments, so we can trust Him completely. He doesn’t want us to figure out everything along the way. He wants us to walk by faith and be dedicated to listening for His voice in everything we do and everywhere we go. He wants us learning and growing, not getting stagnant and dormant.
Most people will not go through the growing pains to find and fulfill their God-given destiny. They don’t want to embrace change. They don’t want to take on the added responsibility to try something new.
I often find myself having to MAKE myself learn new things and PUSH to pursue new ventures as God directs. I have DISCOVERED that when God gives me a glimpse of my purpose and destiny, I need to CHOOSE to follow His leading and not give into wanting to stay put. I have to DECIDE not to worry that I might not get it right. I need to SEEK God FIRST and He will see to it that all things will be added unto me (see Matthew 6:33).
You will find that through the seasons of life you will need to constantly revise your plans, and get additional clarity on your God-given destiny. It helps to journal and write down the specific things God is revealing to you to do and when you are to plan to do them. (See Habakkuk 2:2-3) It is important also to count the cost to finish.(See Luke 14:28-30)
My prayer is that we will walk into this next season God has for us with confidence, freedom, boldness and courage. That we will fully embrace our God-given destiny and trust Him to guide us each step of the way.
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
